The Ellsworth Boys Basketball Team traveled to Dover-Foxcroft on Wednesday, December 12th and came away with a 52-41 victory.

After a very poor first half for both teams (tied 7-7 after the 1st Quarter), the Ellsworth Eagles came out blazing in the second half, and put away the Foxcroft Academy Ponies quickly, outscoring Foxcroft Academy 39-25.

Ellsworth had three players in double figures, led by the McDonald's Player of the Game, Griffin Nightingale, who scored a game high 20 points for Ellsworth High School. Steven Mahon added 16 and Josh Bead had 14 points. Kolby Kendall was the leading scorer for Foxcroft Academy with 11 points.

With the victory, Ellsworth improved to 1-1 on the season, and Foxcroft Academy fell to 1-1. The Ellsworth Boys play John Bapst Saturday, December 15th in the Bangor Auditorium. That game may be heard on WDEA AM 1370 as well as on WDEA Internet Radio with the pregame starting at 6:40 p.m. and tip-off at 7 p.m.
